It appears that veteran outfielder Torii Hunter is headed back to where it all began.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported Tuesday afternoon that the 39-year-old has agreed to a one-year, $10.5-million contract with the Minnesota Twins, the team that drafted him more than 20 years ago. Hunter spent his first 11 major-league seasons with the Twins before signing with the Angels following the 2007 season.
Hunter spent the last two seasons with the Tigers and has remained amazingly durable throughout the final stretch of his career. Nightengale also added that Hunter is expected to serve as the Twins’ everyday right fielder in 2015. The nine-time Gold Glove winner hit 17 home runs in 142 games this past season for the Tigers.
