- Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong finished third in the National League Rookie of the Year race behind winner Jacob deGrom and runner-up Billy Hamilton. Wong started 100 games for the team in 2014, hitting .249 with 12 homers, 42 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases. He ranked in the top seven in hits, doubles, RBIs, and home runs among NL rookies. - In his article on Matheny on STLBaseballWeekly.com, Brian Stull reported that Cardinals pitcher Randy Choate pitched on Tuesday in the first of many exhibition games in Japan. Choate is a member of the MLB All-Stars team that traveled there recently to participate in the Japan Series.
- Finally, the Cardinals announced the signings of four players on Tuesday. The team signed 27-year old infielder Dean Anna to a major-league deal and signed infielder Scott Moore and pitchers Marcus Hatley and Miguel Socolovich to minor-league contracts. Moore was with the organization last year, spending the entire season at Class AAA Memphis. Anna, who made his major league debut with the Yankees this past season, will come into spring training as a roster player while the other three received invitations to spring training as part of their contracts.
