Just a few weeks after the trade for Jason Heyward spelled the end of his time wearing a Cardinals uniform, outfielder Shane Robinson has found a new home. On Thursday the Minnesota Twins signed the former Cardinal to a minor league deal that includes an invitation to spring training, according to LaVelle E. Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Robinson struggled in limited playing time with the Cardinals in 2014, hitting just .150 with 4 RBIs over 66 plate appearances. Robinson is just a career .231 hitter over parts of five seasons with the big-league club, but has the ability to handle all three outfield positions and will likely be competing for a reserve outfield spot in spring training with the Twins.
