Major League Baseball announced on Friday that Cardinals minor league infielder Luke Doyle has been suspended 50 games without pay after testing positive for the stimulant Amphetamine.
Drafted by the Cardinals in the 20th round of the 2015 MLB June Amateur draft, Doyle hit just .207 with 3 home runs in 44 games at rookie-level Johnson City last season.
Doyle’s suspension will be effective at the start of the 2016 rookie-level Appalachian League season.
