Cards to use regular lineup with Wacha on the mound

For the first time this spring, the Cardinals are set to use what’s expected to be their regular lineup this season when the redbirds square off against the Washington Nationals in exhibition play on Wednesday (12:05 pm CT).

Michael Wacha, who has struck out nine over 9 2/3 innings while posting a 2.79 ERA this spring, will take the mound against Max Scherzer, who was recently named the National’s Opening Day starter.

According to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com, the team’s available relievers are Randy Choate, Sam Freeman, Kevin Siegrist, Matt Belisle, Mitch Harris, Marcus Hatley, Seth Maness, Trevor Rosenthal, Carlos Vilanueva, and Jordan Walden.

  3. Holliday LF
  4. Adams 1B
  5. Peralta SS
  6. Molina C
  7. Jay CF
  8. Wong 2B
  9. Wacha SP
