Former 20-game winner Ray Sadecki dies

Left-handed pitcher Ray Sadecki, who won 20 games for the Cardinals during their 1964 championship season, passed away on Monday from complications of blood cancer at the age of 73.

Sadecki reached the major leagues at just 19 years old and pitched for six major league teams over eighteen years, with eight of those in St. Louis. During the 1964 championship season, Sadecki went 20-11 with a 3.68 ERA and made two starts in the World Series against the Yankees.
