In the Division: Cubs acquire infielder La Stella from Braves

The Chicago Cubs announced on Twitter that they have acquired infielder Tommy La Stella along with a international signing bonus slot from the Atlanta Braves for right-handed pitcher Arodys Vizcaino and three of the Cubs’ international bonus slots.

The 25-year-old La Stella took over as the Braves second baseman midway through this past season and hit .251 with 31 RBI in just 93 games. With the Cubs crowded middle infield situation it’s unclear what La Stella’s role could be in 2015.
