Adam Wainwright will head to the mound Thursday to make his second to last start of Spring Training against the Miami Marlins and Henderson Alvarez.

After tossing four scoreless innings in his last start, the goal for Wainwright Thursday is to reach 80 pitches, according to Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Matt Carpenter is back at third base after existing Wednesday’s game early after being hit in the right quad by a Max Scherzer pitch. Second baseman Kolten Wong, who was hit in the foot by a pitch in the eighth inning of Wednesday’s game, is not in Thursday’s lineup, although there is no report on any injury at this time.
