Cardinals to kick off 2016 MLB Season as part of Opening Day triple-header

The St. Louis Cardinals will open up the 2016 Major League Baseball season in the first game of an Opening Day triple-header on April 3 in Pittsburgh, MLB announced on Thursday.

First pitch is slated for 12:05 pm central time for the Sunday season-opener, which was originally scheduled for the next day but picked up by ESPN.

Seven games will be played on the first two days of the season, including all ten teams that played in the 2015 postseason.
